The Roots of the Lens My journey with photography didn’t start with a drone; it started right here in the darkrooms of Hastings Senior High School. As a member of the Class of 1999, I was fortunate enough to be taught the fundamentals of composition, lighting, and storytelling by Gary Gronquist. Those early days of manual film and developing prints laid the foundation for everything I do today.
Evolution of Perspective Over the last two decades, my passion for capturing the world has evolved alongside the technology. Today, I’ve traded the darkroom for the flight deck. As an FAA Part 107 Certified Commercial Pilot, I’ve combined my deep-rooted technical background with high-performance aerial platforms like the DJI Air 3S.
The Dustoff Mission I founded Dustoff Drone Services to bring a professional, precision-driven perspective to the Twin Cities and my hometown of Hastings. Whether I’m "sniping" a stale real estate listing to give it a fresh start or capturing the cinematic beauty of a local landmark, my goal is to deliver imagery that is as technically perfect as it is visually striking.
When I’m not in the air, you can usually find me scouting new locations along the Mississippi or refining my mobile flight operations—always looking for that next "Hero Shot" that tells the full story of the land.
